Last week, we celebrated the real MVPs of our school day—our incredible cafeteria team! From early mornings and hot ovens to warm smiles and full bellies, our Lunch Heroes do it all. They serve more than just meals—they serve kindness, encouragement, and a daily dose of comfort. Whether it’s remembering a favorite snack or brightening someone’s day with a cheerful “hello,” their impact goes far beyond the lunch line. To our Lunch Heroes: thank you for nourishing our students with care, love, and a whole lot of heart. We see you. We appreciate you. And we’re so lucky to have you on our team! Let’s give them a round of applause—and maybe even a high five in the cafeteria!

Today, Newport High School had the honor of hosting a Naturalization Ceremony with Judge David Bunning presiding. In a moving and memorable event, individuals from around the world took the Oath of Allegiance and officially became United States citizens—right here in our school. Our students and staff had the incredible opportunity to witness this powerful moment, reminding us all of the value of citizenship, the strength of diversity, and the promise of the American dream. We are proud to have shared in this life-changing milestone and to welcome our newest citizens. For years, Irv has been the quiet hero of Newport High School—the first to arrive and always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. His pride in keeping our school clean, safe, and welcoming has touched the lives of students, staff, and families alike. Irv, your dedication, your humor, and your heart have made Newport a better place. We’ll miss your steady presence in the halls, but we’re so excited for all the joy and rest you have ahead. What a week! The teachers had a blast celebrating a little pre-Spring Break fun with our own spirit week — from Hawaiian Theme to Dress Like a Student and a whole lot of laughter in between. Sometimes, a little joy and creativity is just what we need to make it to break! 🌸😄 We can't wait to see our students tomorrow morning!
